Herr Torturer
Hello, Herr Torturer,
You have come again,
To visit me,
This time in my dreams.
It is thirty-six years,
Since I last saw your face,
Your grinning visage,
Standing over me.
You took a fancy to me,
In that death-camp of yours,
And night after night,
You made me your slave.
You and your cronies,
Exacted your revenge,
For whatever we Zionists,
Had done to your people.
You beat and thrashed,
And raped and humiliated,
And cut and tore,
Chunks out of my soul.
But I wasn’t the only one,
You did this to hundreds,
And those you had no use for,
You sent to the chamber.
The old, the weak,
The sick, the helpless,
The ones who couldn’t work,
The ones whose lives were useless.
You sent lines of people,
Into the ’showers’,
Stripped them, locked them in,
And sent them to meet their maker.
Anyone who dared,
To look you in the eye,
Received a flogging,
Or a more permanent solution.
When the rescuers came,
You fled to Africa,
But your men were rounded up,
And punished.
But did you manage to sleep?
Did you find a moment’s rest?
Or did the faces haunt you?
The ones you sent to their death?
The grinning skulls,
Faces peeled back off their heads,
Skin burnt by the quicklime,
Bodies bloated and disfigured?
The lines of hollow-eyed,
And hunchbacked corpses,
The ones who did no wrong,
And yet you condemned them.
There’s no coming back for them,
But I am still alive.
You may have broken my body, Herr Doktor,
But my spirit lay safe.
Night after night,
I vowed not to let you break me,
I have found my peace, you b*stard,
You torture me no more.

Very Gothic…. much like your other work..definitely your forte….
…seriously needs to be published
very nice, but the use of ‘b*stard’ at the end somehow seems to show that he has actually broken her, or at the very least caused cracks in her spirit. while he may not torture her any more, he seems to have left a telling crack in the shell.
i agree with the prev comment..but despite that..i like the way it builds up in intensity thru the piece..
Yes Jai, that was the intention. I wanted to show that although a person may find some measure of peace after such an experience, there is always a part of them that would love revenge in some form or another. Very few people are capable of complete forgiveness…
thanks for noticing.

Hey man, thanks a lot. I’m glad to know that you liked it so much…hopefully you’ll gather a lot more favourites as I keep writing!
